“The Naturalist,”
by Cliff Glaviano
Library Journal
May 15, 2005

Naturalist Kent Bonar has kept pretty much to himself, pursuing his own studies of the flora and fauna of the Ozarks and relying on the reputation of his encyclopedic knowledge of the local ecology and the quality of his illustrations point up the need to conserve the ecosystem.  Bonar lives simply, in philosophical, spiritual, and artistic harmony with his surroundings.  As he shows us, there still is room for humanity to be in tune with the environment and still much beauty that may be created from traditional materials and acute observation.  The Naturalist is expertly filmed and edited; highly recommended for general collections.
