“Film Shorts”
Portland Mercury, November 2004,

“Libby, Montana.” This thoughtful and wrenching documentary painstakingly details the history of Libby, Montana, once the world's largest exporter of the asbestos-containing ore vermiculite. Hundreds of miners and their families died after years of exposure to toxic dust, while mine owners were aware of the dangers posed by asbestos and did nothing. The second half of the film focuses on the more recent efforts of Libby residents to have the town designated a Superfund cleanup site. A selection of both the Northwest Film & Video Festival and the Portland International Nature and Environmental Film Festival. (Alison Hallett) Fifth Avenue Cinemas, Guild Theater
