June 2, 2004
Missoulian

El Caballo, by Drury Gunn Carr and Doug Hawes-Davis will air Thursday on KUFM-TV at 7 p.m.

The one-hour documentary explores the evolution, history and current federal management of wild horses on public lands in the western United States.

The film was an official selection in a number of film festivals, among them; Big Muddy Film Festival, Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, International Wildlife Film Festival, Olympia Environmental Film Festival, Vermont International Film Festival and Columbus Film and Video Festival, bronze plaque.

Film fans may remember Hawes-Davis and his company from the documentary on camping at Wal-Mart titled This is Nowhere, and a film on the asbestos troubles in Libby. He also launched the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival this past March.
