“Road Blockade,” documents the Buffalo Field Campaign blocking a road near West Yellowstone in an attempt to stop the Montana Department of Livestock from building a bison capture facility on National Forest land. The scene was shot in the winter of 2001 and remained part of the feature documentary, FACING THE STORM: STORY OF THE AMERICAN BISON, until the final version, where the scene was cut.
During one of our final shoots for the feature documentary, FACING THE STORM: STORY OF THE AMERICAN BISON, Ken Furrow and Doug Hawes-Davis were filming scenics in South Dakota and spotted the mule deer in this clip. A shot of the deer is in one of the final scenes of the movie, but what happens in this short clip is not. Given their excitement over the size of the deer and the incoming golden eagle, the audio file has been deleted as it was unfit for public webcast.
